Identity Finder Home Edition is a shareware utility that has been designed to protect us against credit card fraud, identity theft, and so on. This program can search our files, web data, e-mails and attachments, and Windows Registry for any personal information that we may have stored and that can be used to cause us real damage.
From the user interface, we can easily choose which items should be searched for, such as credit card numbers, passwords, social security numbers, bank account numbers, telephone numbers, date of birth, driver licenses, passport numbers, personal addresses, employee IDs, Australian TFN, Canada SIN, UK NINO, UK NHS, etc. Depending on our selection, the program first searches for the specified data and afterwards we can view the results in the preview window. Then, we can choose whether to delete that data, or encrypt it and save to a secure vault, so that hackers could not access it.
This program can also delete all the Web data stored in our Internet Explorer or Firefox browsers. All these options are completely customizable. Moreover, we are allowed to specify personal information for specific countries.
The new version 3.6 offers us the possibility to select which setup type we prefer (custom or typical), and also select the data that we want to search for and protect. We can evaluate the trial version of this program free of charge. To be able to use this program, we need to have an Internet connection. Identity Finder runs under Windows Vista, XP, and 2000 operating systems.
